Young Conaway Wins Second Major Award

The new Young Conaway website has been recognized as a Gold Winner by the 14th Annual Davey Awards. This comes right on the heels of the website's winning silver at the W3 Awards.

About the Award

The Davey Awards honors outstanding creative work from the best small shops worldwide. The competition is judged and overseen by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), an invitation-only body consisting of top-tier professionals. Current AIVA members are from Condé Nast, Disney, GE, Johns Hopkins Medicine, Microsoft, Publicis, Sesame Workshops, Yahoo!, and many others.

About the Project

Young Conaway is the youngest of Delaware’s “big four” law firms and the largest full-service firm in the state. The firm engaged Great Jakes to create a website that would position it as a top-tier player and appeal to both of its constituencies: large national clients with highly specialized needs, and smaller in-state and regional clients with more varied needs.

Key characteristics of the website include

  • Geo-targeted Homepage Content – The website uses geo-location technology to offer targeted content based on the user’s geographic position, down to the zip code. Visitors from outside of Delaware are shown homepage messaging and imagery that speak to national concerns, whereas visitors within Delaware are shown locally focused content.
  • Dynamic Content Teasing – The website is equipped with Great Jakes’s Dynamic Sidebar Tool. This feature allows firms to easily create and manage sidebar content, including “suggested content” teasers that keep site visitors engaged (and reading). The suggested content can be manually curated, or the feature can be set to “automatic mode,” which uses a proprietary algorithm to suggest relevant content.
