Wilkes & McHugh

The firm:  Wilkes & McHugh is a litigation powerhouse that has recovered in excess of $3 billion for its clients.

The challenge:  The firm built a national reputation around nursing home abuse and neglect cases but was less known for its work on matters outside of this traditional core. The firm desired a fresh visual identity and a new website that would elevate growing practice areas and appeal to its broader target market.

The website uses geo-location technology to offer a targeted user experience. When a person visits wilkesmchugh.com, the website instantly determines the visitor’s geographic position, down to the zip code, and serves up a location-specific image and message.

To help position Wilkes & McHugh to appeal to its broader target market, a bold new graphic identity was designed for the firm. This includes a new color scheme, a new logo design, and new directions in brand imagery and portrait photography. The graphic identity was designed by Great Jakes, with the exception of the logo, which was created by Judah Eisenhart.

The website is equipped with Great Jakes’ Dynamic Sidebar Tool. This feature allows firms to quickly and easily customize sidebars that feature “suggested content” teasers, pull quotes, videos, photos, and other calls-to-action. Easy-to-use drag-and-drop functionality gives site administrators unprecedented flexibility and control over their page layouts.

To achieve a more modern look and feel, new portrait photos were taken of all attorneys. The large, engaging photos are designed to create an emotional connection with website visitors. The portrait photos were shot by Gittings with creative direction by Great Jakes.
