The Firm: Polsinelli is an AmLaw 100 firm with over 900 attorneys in 21 offices nationwide.

The Challenge: The firm has more than doubled in size over the past decade. As a result, Polsinelli needed a dynamic website that positioned the firm as the national powerhouse that it is. Additionally, the firm wanted the website to spotlight its unique culture, diverse team, and progressive approach to the practice of law.

The Polsinelli website showcases a refreshed brand-look and brand-messaging, including its new tagline “What a Law Firm Should Be.” Industry-leading brand strategist Ross Fishman of Fishman Marketing was instrumental in the various brand improvements reflected on the website.

To convey the feeling of a cutting-edge organization, the website features graceful animations and page transitions throughout. These animated effects are possible only on websites built on the newest front-end technologies (such as React, described below).

The website is built with “dynamic content teasing,” an award-winning feature that helps keep visitors engaged by suggesting relevant content. Teasers can be manually curated or set to “automatic mode,” which uses a proprietary algorithm to suggest related content.

The website features “person microsites”—a unique approach to law firm bios that was pioneered by Great Jakes. Microsites are essentially small websites for each person (or capability) that fit within the firm’s larger website. Microsites can be customized to fit the business development needs of each attorney or practice group, and they can contain any number of pages or types of content.

For some examples of how the firm is using microsite functionality, see R. Ross Burris, III and Health Care.

The Polsinelli website was built using React, a cutting-edge website technology that is fast becoming the standard for dynamic websites. React allows for lightning-fast page loads, elegant page transitions, and improved security (among other things). To learn more about how React can benefit law firms, read our whitepaper.

The website was designed and built to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). For example, the website has been optimized for screen-readers (used by blind people), is fully navigable via keyboard (for people with motor disabilities), and is designed to be contrast color compliant (for sighted people with impaired vision).
